Ingredients: Premium oolong tea
This Chinese oolong, named after the Goddess of Mercy Kwan Yin (Guan Yin or Kwannon), has deep roots in tradition and legend. To enjoy its full potential, steep at 185°F for 1-2 minutes and re-infuse 4-6 times. There are two legends surrounding this tea: Wei and Wang. Wei's legend tells of a poor farmer who, despite limited means, faithfully cared for a rundown temple dedicated to Guanyin. In return, the Bodhisattva appeared in a dream and led him to a treasure which he used to prosper and share with his community. Wang, a scholar, discovered the tea plant beneath the Guanyin rock in Xiping and offered it as a gift to the emperor, who was so impressed that he named it after the rock and called it the Guanyin tea.
